These paintings are from the Digestion Series and Consumption Series. Both groups of paintings began as meditations on how we are nurtured on various levels by our experiences in life and have evolved into the residue that is visually evident. This concept of experience as nutririon pertains to the emotional, intellectual, psychological and spiritual. It is our experiences that, when "digested", make us the individuals that we become. I find a strong parallel between the process of experiencing life and the process of creating paintings. |
